Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr. usually don’t agree on much. Together they’re sure they gave British boxing fans a night they’ll never forget April 26.
Benn and Eubank reignited their family rivalry at a sold-out Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, where they took turns tattooing each other with flush shots that wowed an appreciative crowd.
“I knew he wanted to kill me in there,” Eubank said during a DAZN segment in which they rewatched their epic encounter. “I knew it was gonna take more than one nice little shot to stop that energy. But I thought eventually I would be able to sap him of that aggression and that energy and eventually he would give up. He didn’t.”
Judges Mark Bates, Lee Every and Kieran McCann credited Eubank with a 116-112 win on each scorecard. Nine months later, The Ring recognized their first fan-friendly slugfest as its “Fight of the Year” for 2025 at its second annual awards gala Friday night at Cipriani in New York.
Both boxers believe they hurt each other, though neither would admit it.
“He caught me with a few good shots in there,” Benn said to DAZN. “The ones that looked like they done more damage than they did, but he would sort of hit me with a shot and I was right back on him. I just turned my head for a second and I was straight back on him. There wasn’t ever a moment where I thought, ‘I’m in trouble,’ not at one stage. He beat me on work rate and experience in there.”
Benn, who moved up to middleweight for both Eubank bouts, avenged his lone loss by beating him decisively in their rematch Nov. 15, again at a sold-out Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Their first fight was more competitive and dramatic, particularly in an action-packed 12th,
“It’s incredible,” Eubank said of their Ring-branded main event. “It’s a moment that will live on forever.”
