The two-time unified heavyweight champion shared footage of himself violently swinging at a heavy bag on Sunday.

“Fighting through pain is the best way to heal,” Joshua wrote in the caption.

The 36-year-old Londoner is expected to solidify plans for his return fight in the coming days. Over the last week, Joshua has been in Ukraine touring the country alongside former rival turned teammate Oleksandr Usyk.

Joshua (29-4, 26 KOs) last fought on December 19 and knocked out Jake Paul in six rounds. Joshua was involved in a crash in Lagos, Nigeria, 10 days later that killed two of his closest confidants in trainer Latif Adoyele and strength and conditioning coach Sina Ghami, Joshua honored the memories of his fallen friends with a tattoo last month.

His career-long promoter, Eddie Hearn, recently said the plan was to get Joshua a fight in July.

The ultimate plan is for Joshua to eventually face Tyson Fury after Fury completes his own comeback against Arslanbek Makhmudov on April 11.

"I think every fight is dangerous, coming off what he's come off,” Hearn said last month. “We're open to the Fury fight but probably more likely [near the] end of the year, maybe early 2027."
