Even if it didn't go how everyone anticipated it would play out, Rafael Espinoza made quick work of Ricardo Blandon.
Espinoza stopped Blandon in the third round due to a cut and retained his WBO featherweight title on the undercard of Saul "Canelo" Alvarez versus Christian Mbilli on Saturday at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
After the win on The Ring's "Mexico Versus The World" card on DAZN, Mexico's Espinoza (29-0, 25 KOs) called for a unification bout or to face Naoya Inoue in his next fight. Unification clashes would mean facing IBF titleholder Angelo Leo (26-1, 12 KOs) or WBC champion Bruce Carrington (18-0, 10 KOs) next, though a bout with Inoue (33-0, 27 KOs), the undisputed 122-pound champion and The Ring's No. 1-ranked fighter pound-for-pound, would be the biggest of the three and likely the most appealing.
Who should Espinoza, The Ring's No. 1-ranked featherweight, face next?
