Few fights in boxing are better on paper than Emanuel Navarrete versus O’Shaquie Foster.
Navarrete and Foster will clash in a 130-pound unification bout at Frost Bank Center in San Antonio on Saturday. Their 12-round bout will headline a Top Rank card on DAZN (8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT).
The Ring’s vacant 130-pound title will also be at stake. Navarrete (40-2-1, 33 KOs) is The Ring’s No. 1-ranked junior lightweight, while Foster (25-3, 12 KOs) is No. 2.
Navarrete, 31, became the IBF and WBO champion with a dominant 11th-round stoppage of Eduardo Nunez on February 28 at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona. The San Juan Zitlaltepec, Distrito Federal, Mexico, native is a three-division world champion.
Foster, 33, is coming off a majority decision over Raymond Ford to retain his WBC 130-pound title on May 30 in Houston. The Orange, Texas, native is a two-time WBC 130-pound champion.
Boxing is at its peak when the best of the best face each other. If Navarrete-Foster lives up to expectations, it could be a Fight of the Year contender. The winner will have a strong claim to be the 2026 Fighter of the Year and a spot on the pound-for-pound list.
