Mario Lopez will bring his passion for boxing, knowledge of the sport, wealth of broadcasting experience and polished presence on camera to the second season of “Inside The Ring.”
Lopez was announced as the show’s new full-time host Tuesday. He will team with The Ring’s Mike Coppinger and a rotating panel of analysts when the revamped show premieres Thursday, live on DAZN and The Ring’s YouTube channel.
Live episodes will regularly premiere on Thursdays at 2 p.m. ET and 11 a.m. PT in the United States and 7 p.m. BST in the UK.
The first season of “Inside The Ring,” which concluded late in August, was hosted by Max Kellerman.
Lopez trained for many years at Freddie Roach’s Wild Card Boxing Club in West Hollywood, California. He often shared footage of his training and sparring sessions on social media and expressed respect and admiration for everything boxers experience.
An actor and television host on such shows as “Extra” and “The X Factor,” Lopez has also served as a guest color commentator for boxing events broadcast by HBO International and Golden Boy Promotions. He has co-hosted a popular, long-running boxing podcast, “The 3 Knockdown Rule,” with Ring contributor Steve Kim as well.
