During the broadcast of Isaac Cruz’s sixth-round knockout of Nestor Bravo on Saturday, DAZN’s Chris Mannix reported that the unification welterweight title fight could take place as early as February 2027. He also added that Madison Square Garden in New York is one of the sites that could host the fight.

Garcia (26-2, 21 KOs) and Lopez (23-2, 13 KOs) had called for a fight against each other next. Lopez beat Rolly Romero by majority decision to win the WBA welterweight title and become a three-division world champion on August 22.

Garcia, 28, made quick work of Conor Benn and stopped him in the second round to retain his WBC welterweight title on September 12. After the fight, Lopez, 29, tried to enter the ring after Garcia called him out, but Zuffa security prevented him from doing so.

Garcia, of Victorville, California, is The Ring’s No. 2 welterweight, while Lopez, a New York native, is ranked No. 3.

Mannix also named Cruz (29-3-2, 19 KOs) and Alexis Rocha as potential options for Garcia’s next fight. Rocha (27-2-1, 16 KOs), The Ring’s No. 9 welterweight, earned the biggest win of his career on the undercard of Garcia-Benn when he beat former unified 140-pound champion Jose Ramirez by unanimous decision.

Cruz called out Garcia after his win over Bravo at Pechanga Arena in San Diego. Garcia responded on X and said he’d be willing to face him in December.
