The Ring's top 10 pound-for-pound-rated fighters have fought 10 times so far in 2026. Only Oscar Collazo, ranked 10th, has fought more than once, while No. 8 Devin Haney has yet to lace up the gloves.

And then there is Ryan Garcia, widely considered one of boxing's faces.

Although Garcia isn't rated in The Ring's P4P list, the WBC welterweight champion is rated No. 2 in the division and can likely lock up the highly coveted Fighter of the Year if he decides to fight one more time before the calendar turns to 2027.

"I’m trying to get this fight done for the year," Garcia said on social media Thursday. "I’m on the hunt. December, I’m throwing hands. Then right to May."

Garcia (26-2, 21 KOs) dropped and beat Mario Barrios by unanimous decision in February for the crown he now carries and blasted Conor Benn inside two rounds earlier this month.

Heading into the bout against Benn, Garcia told The Ring that December would be a quick turnaround to solidify his FOTY status, and that he had his eyes set on facing WBA champion Teofimo Lopez in a title unification bout on Cinco de Mayo weekend next year.

But after making minced meat of Benn in less than five minutes, Garcia is still fresh and has more momentum than ever.

"Ryan has plenty of options," Garcia's attorney and advisor Guadalupe Valencia told The Ring earlier this month amidst ongoing conversations for a rematch against Gervonta Davis.

"Everyone wants to be in the ring with Ryan. We plan on being right back into a fight and announcing Ryan's next fight shortly. We want to keep this great energy going and give the fans what they want, which is exciting and explosive fights."

Garcia has also been linked to fights against Haney, Terence Crawford, Shakur Stevenson, Issac Cruz and Liam Paro.

By fighting a third time in 2026 against any of these opponents and winning, Garcia would be a leading candidate for FOTY.
