It didn’t take long for Abdullah Mason to fight for a world title, roughly four years and 20 fights to be exact.

The ANB Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, will host as The Ring will place both Mason and Sam Noakes across from one another for the vacant WBO lightweight title on November 22.

Fighting for one of boxing’s Crown Jewels is enough to keep Mason motivated, but if he wins, he knows the road to becoming an undisputed champion will be a difficult one. With Gervonta Davis in possession of the WBA title, Shakur Stevenson holding firm to his WBC crown, and Raymond Muratalla having a strong grip on the IBF strap, Mason hopes he can face all of them at some point.

Those hypothetical matchups, however, are fun to think about, but Mason doesn’t want to get too ahead of himself. First things first, he has to take out The Ring’s No. 8 ranked lightweight to get the ball rolling.

“Right now, I’m focused on Sam Noakes,” Mason told The Ring recently. “He’s the one that's gonna hand me that world title.”

Currently ranked No. 9 by The Ring, Mason (19-0, 17 KOs) has barely broken a sweat in his fights. That pattern continued on June 7, earlier this year, against Jeremia Nakathila. With the 21-year-old needing just five rounds to get rid of his man, the rest of the world began taking notice.

As long as everything goes according to plan on November 22, Mason knows it’ll only be a matter of time before he’s involved in some of boxing’s mega fights. He couldn’t really tell you who will be his most difficult opponent down the line. He also isn’t keen on just one name. If you’re a current lightweight with some considerable buzz, Mason wants to eventually get his hands on you.
