MONTREAL —The Chechnyan Wolf is on the prowl.

Fast-rising junior welterweight Arthur Biyarslanov jumped on Mohamed Mimoune in two-rounds on Thursday to retain his NABF title at the Montreal Casino, Montreal.

"I hit him with a shot and hurt him and decided to go for him," said Biyarslanov (18-0, 15 knockouts). "I want to fight anyone in the top 10. I have fought five times in a year now."

Biyarslanov started fast and pressed the action in the first round but Mimoune (24-7, 5 KOs) tucked up and avoided any danger.

However, that changed and changed quickly in the second round. Biyarslanov, who is an adopted Canadian represented them at the 2016 Olympics, hurt Mimoune with big right hand that saw Mimoune's legs betray him. A follow up combination saw the Frenchman touch the canvas with his gloves and was called a knockdown 20 seconds into the round.

With over two minutes left Mimoune was on unsteady legs and covering up. He was able to ride out a minute, flailing into the ropes on one occasion. The unrelenting Biyarslanov had the bit between his teeth teeing off on Mimoune forcing referee, Alain Villeneuve, to jump in and wave the fight off at 2:16 of the round.
