Jeamie TKV and David Adeleye will meet in an immediate rematch for the British heavyweight title after the controversial climax to their initial encounter.

Adeleye won via stoppage in the sixth round at the Co-op Live Arena on Saturday night after dropping Tshikeva twice, but the first was caused by a left hook after referee Ron Kearney had clearly told them to break twice.

Tshikeva’s promoter Ben Shalom called for the result to be overturned and Boxxer lodged an appeal with the British Boxing Board of Control, who sanctioned the fight, on Tuesday.

And, as revealed by The Ring on Monday morning, The Board met on Wednesday to review the situation and make their decision on how to proceed.

They have now confirmed that an immediate rematch will take place, with purse bids invited.

A statement from the Board said: “Following consideration of the Vacant British Championship between David Adeleye and Jeamie Tshikeva, which took place on Saturday, 5th April 2025 in Manchester, the Stewards of the Board have ordered an immediate rematch.

“Purse offers will be released shortly with bids to be received on Wednesday 14th May, 2025.”

Their decision does, however, mean that the defeat will still stand on Tshikeva’s record, leaving him 8-2 (5) while Adeleye, who will be the defending champion for the rematch, is 14-1 (13).

Speaking exclusively to The Ring on Tuesday, Tottenham’s Tshikeva had said: “I’m not sure what’s going to happen but I do believe that the Board will make the right decision,” he said. “They will make the right decision and we are just waiting on that.

“They have to decide. They know what to do and they will know what the right thing is here. It’s up to them.”
