Benavidez will face Cieslak for three of the four sanctioning body titles on December 5. Benavidez, The Ring’s No. 1-ranked cruiserweight and No. 5-ranked fighter pound-for-pound, holds the WBA and WBO titles. Cieslak, The Ring's No. 4-rated cruiserweight, is the WBC titleholder. The IBF title is vacant.

DAZN announced the fight Thursday on social media.

Benavidez (32-0, 26 KOs) became the unified cruiserweight champion with a dominant sixth-round knockout of Gilberto Ramirez on May 2. The win made the 29-year-old from Phoenix, Arizona, a three-division world champion.

Poland’s Cieslak (28-2, 22 KOs) won the interim WBC cruiserweight title with a fourth-round stoppage of Jean Pascal in June 2025. Cieslak, 37, was elevated to full titleholder on September 14 after former champion Noel Mikaelian was stripped before his ninth-round stoppage loss to The Ring cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia on September 12.

Mikaelian (28-4, 12 KOs) was ordered to face Benavidez before opting to face Opetaia (31-0, 24 KOs), which led to his dropping of the belt.

In the co-main event, Vergil Ortiz Jr., The Ring's No. 2-ranked junior middleweight, will make his debut at middleweight against former welterweight champion Keith Thurman.

The Ring's 2025 Prospect of the Year Emiliano Vargas also makes his return on the bill. Meanwhile, Australian Nikita Tszyu will make his US debut in an eight-round 154-pound bout.
