As previously reported by The Ring, Adames (25-1-1, 18 KOs) was in advanced talks to face IBF champion Osleys Iglesias, a little over two months after defending his 160-pound belt against Austin "Ammo" Williams on March 21.

Discussions have gone quiet since with Iglesias (15-0, 14 KOs) reportedly pursuing other options and it appears the Dominican native will explore an opportunity in his more natural weight class, rather than wait.

WBO champion Denzel Bentley, who was upgraded from interim titleholder last month, took to social media and replied to Adames' tweet declaring a willingness to agree terms for a unification.

Bentley (22-3-1, 18 KOs) scored an seventh-round stoppage of Endry Saavedra for an interim 160-pound title on April 4 and was elevated after Janibek Alimkhanuly told the sanctioning body of his desire to move up in weight.

Young contenders Vito Mielnicki (23-1, 13 KOs), Top Rank-backed Jahi Tucker (17-1, 7 KOs) and former WBO junior middleweight champion Tim Tszyu have all been among those interested in facing the Wandsworth man.

Xander Zayas (23-1, 13 KOs), who unified the WBO and WBA 154-pound titles before Jaron Ennis' June 27 stoppage win, is also expected to monitor the middleweight waters as another divisional arrival beckons in 2027.

WBO president Gustavo Olivieri told The Ring this week that it was 'very likely' the Brit would be granted a voluntary first title defense, with No. 1 contender Yoenli Hernandez (10-0, 9 KOs) waiting in the wings.

Hernandez returns in a career-best test against Francisco Veron on the Rolando Romero-Teofimo Lopez undercard August 22 and the Queensberry-backed champion is likely to seek a first defense before year's end.
