An all-South African light heavyweight rematch between Bryan Thysse and Michael Head will headline Golden Gloves latest offering at Emperors Palace, Johannesburg on Oct. 4.

The two will meet for the South African light heavyweight title over 12 rounds in the final of Rising Titans having won their semi-final fights earlier this year.

When the two previously met in December 2022, and on that occasion Thysse (6-0-1, 2 KOs) emerged victorious over Head (3-1-1, 1 KO) via four-round split decision.

Originally, the plan called for Siyakholwa Kuse, rated at No. 4 by The Ring at strawweight, to headline until he was given a shot at the WBC title against Melvin Jerusalem in Quezon City, Philippines on Oct. 29.

The hope was then for Beavan Sibanda, who is also Ring-rated at No. 10, and ran Kuse close, narrowly losing a 12-round majority decision last December to step in, until he was injured.

The event dubbed "Destiny's Decree" which will have six fights will be broadcast on SuperSport.

In chief support, rising heavyweight Juan Alberts (5-0-1, 4 KOs) faces Kareb Shitana (6-1, 5 KOs) over 8 rounds.

Also tabbed to appear is Khaya Mlata (8-0, 4 KOs) who faces Ardy Katompa (6-1-2, 5 KOs) over 8 rounds for the WBC junior featherweight title.

Touted bantamweight Charlton Malajika (8-1, 4 KOs), younger brother of Ring-rated No. 7 junior bantamweight, Ricardo, will face experienced former world title challenger Froilan Saludar (37-8-1, 26 KOs) over 8 rounds.

Jose Kadima (5-0, 4 KOs) and Limbani Lano (9-18-2, 5 KOs) meet over 6 rounds at heavyweight and Jared Hensberg (1-0, 1 KO) and Lawrence Chiyangwa (1-1) square off at over four rounds at super middleweight.
