Joshua Buatsi, The Ring's No. 5-ranked light heavyweight contender, will try to bounce back from his first defeat, a points loss to Callum Smith eight months ago, when he faces Zach Parker on Saturday night in Manchester, England.
MANCHESTER, England – Joshua Buatsi and Zach Parker both successfully made the 175-pound limit ahead of their light heavyweight fight Saturday night.
Buatsi weighed 174 pounds and 10 ounces. Parker tipped the scales at 174 pounds and 9 ounces.
London’s Buatsi (19-1, 13 KOs) is ranked fifth among The Ring's top 10 in the light heavyweight division. He will look to rebound from the defeat he suffered at the hands of Callum Smith on February 22 at ANB Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Woodville’s Parker (26-1, 18 KOs) – who is ranked No. 3 by the WBO – also last saw action in February. He outpointed tough late substitute, Mickael Diallo, over 10 rounds.
At Thursday’s press conference, promoter Frank Warren assured the winner that he will get a major fight early in 2026.
In the evening’s chief support bout, Brad Rea (21-1, 10 KOs) will defend his European light heavyweight title against his Manchester rival, Lyndon Arthur (24-3, 16 KOs). Rea weighed in at 173 pounds and 13 ounces. Arthur was 174 pounds and 13 ounces.
