Callum Simpson made it two wins in three weeks as he knocked out Elvis Ahorgah in the chief support fight on the undercard of Adam Azim-Sergey Lipinets at London's Wembley Arena.

Simpson (17-0, 12 KOs) fought on January 11, headlining a Boxxer card of his own, making quick work of Steed Woodall (19-3-1, 12 KOs) via TKO in the second round of their Sheffield bout.

The build-up to tonight's bout with Ahorgah (13-3, 12 KOs) wasn't supposed to be so fractious, but the Ghanaian came equipped with all the trash talk he could possibly muster on fight week, promising to knock the Barnsley man out in brutal fashion.

He did his best to stay true to his word, coming out of the traps like a human buzzsaw in the first round. Ahorgah was here to spoil the party, swinging like a man possessed and obsessed with trying to take another's head off.

Simpson stood up to much of it and was more than equal to Ahorgah's advances in the second and third rounds, landing big hooks at will himself. But Ahorgah just kept coming, even finding time to shout out former two-time World Welterweight champion Shawn Porter at ringside.

But in the fifth round, Simpson landed a blistering combination which rattled Ahorgah. His head shook from one side to the other with serious torque. Simpson followed up and landed a monstrous right hand as Ahorgah tried to rally desperately.

The referee split the pair from grappling and once they came back together, Simpson had his crowning shots ready to go; a right hand-left hook combo which left Ahorgah face-down on the canvas.

The Ghanaian reached his feet, but it was a little too close to the ten-count for referee Howard Foster, who waved things off to award Simpson the fifth-round TKO victory.

Having fought just three weeks ago on the undercard of Callum Simpson-Steed Woodall, winning in the second round himself, Scott Forrest found himself the perfect opportunity to improve his record.

But up against a very game fighter in Aurel Ignat (9-0, 8 KOs), Forrest (7-1, 4 KOs) found himself stunned in a nightmare match-up, losing by TKO in the very first round.

All was going to plan for Forrest, who landed some effective shots during the first half of the first round, but the tide turned very quickly.

In an explosive turn of events, Moldovan Ignat landed a right hand which buckled the legs of Forrest, before following up his attack with a brutal left-hook which left Forrest backed up in the corner in big trouble.

A final flurry from Ignat was all that was needed. The underdog, who was also undefeated coming into the contest, and is trained by Peacock Gym's Martin Bowers, left the Wembley crowd stunned with first-round stoppage victory.

Promoter Ben Shalom said: "What a welcome addition to the cruiserweight division. What a powerful man, a brilliant stoppage, both men will come again."
