Heavyweight contender Derek Chisora is open to possibility of a crossroads showdown with former two-time world champion Anthony Joshua.

On Saturday night in Manchester, Chisora scored two knockdowns before winning a twelve round unanimous decision over fellow veteran Otto Wallin.

Joshua has been out of the ring since suffering a brutal fifth round knockout loss at the hands of IBF world champion Daniel Dubois last September at Wembley Stadium in London.

The next ring appearance, which will be Chisora's 50th bout, could very well be the final contest of his pro career.

Saturday's contest was billed as potentially the boxer's final bout on UK soil.

“I am not going to lie to you, it will be very, very emotional. Before I left the hotel for this one, I promised myself that I wouldn’t cry. But suddenly I was walking through the corridors and I saw my photos and just started balling," Chisora said.

“It’s going to be very emotional, and sad, because I love this game so much. I just started crying, like a little kid. F---ing hell! I just love the game, the ups and downs, even the cuts and bruises that I have right now. I love it all.”

Chisora has a lot of respect for Joshua. He supported and assisted Joshua when the London star was coming up in the amateur ranks and eventually captured Olympic gold.

“Anthony Joshua has done unbelievably well for boxing in the United Kingdom. Olympic gold medal, world titles, stadium fights .  AJ was the one who took boxing to Saudi Arabia and opened up all the doors for everyone else to follow him and make money," Chisora said.

“I have watched him sell out stadiums in Cardiff and London and Saudi, so he always has to be given respect. But if the public really wants to see us get that fight on, we will get it on.”­
