You’d be hard-pressed to find two fighters who couldn’t be any more different personality-wise than Mario Barrios and Ryan Garcia.
In the ring, there’s a vast difference between them, as well.
Barrios will look to make the third defense of his WBC welterweight title when he faces Garcia in the main event of “The Ring: High Stakes” on Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on DAZN PPV. Barrios (29-2-2, 18 KOs) enters the bout off of consecutive draws, the latter of which came against 2025 International Boxing Hall of Famer and eight-division champion Manny Pacquiao on July 19.
Garcia (24-2, 20 KOs) enters the world title shot off an upset unanimous decision defeat to Rolly Romero on May 2.
The CompuBox stats say plenty about both.

Barrios’ average stats over last 10 fights:

  • 13.5 punches landed per round
  • 50.8 punches thrown per round
  • 5.7 jabs landed per round
  • 28.5 jabs thrown per round
  • 7.9 power punches landed per round
  • 22.2 power punches thrown per round

Garcia’s average punch stats over last eight fights:

  • 10.1 punches landed per round
  • 32.5 punches thrown per round
  • 2.3 jabs landed per round
  • 14.2 jabs thrown per round
  • 7.8 power punches landed per round
  • 18.3 power punches thrown per round
Whether Garcia, 27, can land a big shot could be the deciding factor in whether he wins his first world title. He is much more efficient when it comes to power punches landed per round, landing at a 42.6 percent clip compared to 35.6 percent for Barrios.
But if Garcia can’t land a fight-altering punch, that could pave the way for Barrios’ activity to lead him to a win.
Barrios averages nearly 20 more punches thrown per round. He’s especially more active with his jab, nearly doubling Garcia's output.
If the fight is still up for grabs late, Barrios has proven he can put his foot on the gas and let his hands go. He rallied in the final three rounds against Pacquiao to earn a majority draw and averaged 75.33 punches thrown. In his other title defense, a split draw against Abel Ramos in 2024, he averaged 89.33 punches thrown between Rounds 10-12.
Against Romero, Garcia threw 38 punches between the final three rounds combined. In his no-contest versus WBO welterweight champion Devin Haney, Garcia averaged 29 punches thrown between Rounds 10-12.
DAZN will distribute “The Ring: High Stakes” to non-subscribers on pay-per-view for $69.99 in the United States and £24.99 in the United Kingdom. The show is included in DAZN’s Ultimate monthly plan for subscribers ($44.99; £24.99).
