Conor Benn and Regis Prograis successfully made weight Friday morning, ahead of their 150-pound catchweight preceding Tyson Fury-Arslanbek Makhmudov on Saturday night.
While the returning Tyson Fury and his fearsome Russian foe Arslanbek Makhmudov are still to weigh in at the time of writing, Benn and Prograis were both comfortably inside the contracted 150-pound limit before their bout in the evening's chief support. Benn came in at 149.6 pounds while Prograis was slightly lighter at 148.1 pounds.
Benn, 29, has spent the last year operating as a middleweight for back-to-back fights with Chris Eubank Jr.
Benn (24-1, 14 KOs), came in at 156.25 pounds for their April clash, which he lost via unanimous decision, but was a career-heaviest 159.25 for their November rematch which he dominated. After weighing this time, Benn said: "I'm well under. I should've just made 147."
This encounter with two-time junior welterweight world champion Prograis (30-3, 24 KOs) is Benn’s first move back towards welterweight, where he is No. 1 contender with the WBC.
The Essex man, who has not made 147 pounds for four years, hopes victory over Prograis will then lead to a shot at WBC champion Ryan Garcia later this year.
British heavyweight champion Jeamie TKV will enjoy a substantial weight advantage when he defends his belt against Richard Riakporhe. The 32-year-old was 262.75 pounds on the scales Friday morning.
Former cruiserweight world title challenger Riakporhe was 234 pounds, which was in keeping with his other two heavyweight fights, where he weighed 235 and 236.5 respectively.
Returning Frazer Clarke came in at his lightest weight since making his debut in February 2022 ahead of this make-or-break showdown with Justis Huni. 'Big Fraze', who suffered a split decision defeat by TKV last time out, hit the scales at 259 pounds, 11.25 lighter than his upset loss in November.
Despite the drop, Clarke was still significantly heavier than 246-pound Huni, who also heads into the fight off the back of a defeat, given he was knocked out by Fabio Wardley in June.
He is just two pounds lighter than he was that night. During Thursday's final press conference, the Australian's manager Mick Francis said: "Justis looks incredible and he’s never been so fit."
