Daniel Dubois has announced he will return to trainer Don Charles, months after leaving him in the wake of his rematch defeat to Oleksandr Usyk.

'Dynamite' Dubois first joined Charles in 2023 and the pair began their working relationship with a ninth-round TKO defeat to Usyk in August of that year before going on to win three big fights on the bounce.

Their winning run started with a 10th-round TKO win over Jarrell Miller before Dubois stopped Filip Hrgovic and was elevated to full heavyweight champion by the IBF after Usyk vacated the belt.

Dubois and Charles' crowning moment came when the former bludgeoned Anthony Joshua in the fifth round of their September 2024 clash at Wembley, retaining his title before losing the sequel to Usyk for all the belts at the National Stadium last summer.

Dubois was quick to move and parted ways with Charles before appointing Essex-based Tony Sims as his new trainer. But now, the 28-year-old, via his business partner Riz Khan, has announced his shock return to Charles' Farm Gym in Boreham Wood.

"On behalf of Team Dubois, I wish to confirm to the media and all relevant parties that Daniel has decided to resume his professional relationship with Don Charles and his coaching team," the statement read.

"After careful consideration and discussions with the wider team, Daniel has chosen to reverse that decision.

"Daniel will now return to working with Don Charles, under whose corner he achieved his greatest accomplishments to date. Further fight news to be announced in due course."
