Daniel Dubois sounds like an entirely new man since he annihilated Anthony Joshua last September.
In an interview with The Ring, Dubois, (22-2 21 KOs) revealed that he thinks Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs) should hang up his gloves for good and spoke about wanting to destroy Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) in a heavyweight title rematch.
He even has his sights set on Moses Itauma (11-0 9 KOs), 20, in a big British clash at some point down the line. The confidence is flowing through his veins.
But he's not overlooking his next opponent Joseph Parker (35-3, 23 KOs), he says. Dubois squared off with Parker at a press conference in London to promote the huge Feb. 22 card, headlined by Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol, on Monday evening in London.
Dubois and Parker will do battle on that card in a fight that pits The Ring's No. 2 and No. 3 heavyweights against each other for the former's IBF title.
Presser host Dev Sahni kicked things off between the pair by asking Parker what he thought of Dubois' decision to crash Usyk's post-Tyson Fury fight interview at the end of last year, when he demanded a rematch with the Ukrainian. Parker didn't seem to be in the mood.
"Ask him," Parker said. "Ask him what was going through his head."
Dubois responded: "It's all about making noise, this is show business. [Usyk] is who I want next, first I gotta' get through this guy.
"No way [am I overlooking Parker], I'm gonna do a demolition job on him and then I want Usyk next. I'm ready for it and I'm on a roll so bring him on."
Parker issued a frosty response and told Dubois that he might be getting ahead of himself by talking up other fights.
The New Zealander said: "You have a fight right in front of you right now. I've been boxing for a while and I feel like I've only just begun now. I feel like I've got everything right now, and you're in for a treat.
"I like that he's full of confidence. It's sky-high at the moment but it's all going to stop on February 22nd. Let's go."
Dubois had a reply for that too.
"No, I got my mind firmly set on you," he said. "I feel like I'll be too much for him. Too strong, too fast, everything he does I'm going to do it better. I'm confident, I ain't gotta' say too much. It's going to be a great fight.
"I'll teach you a few things in there if you've just started out. I'll teach you a few lessons and some skills. I'm ready to go."
