Last Friday, 8 days ahead of Daud Yordan was tabbed to face George Kambosos Jr., the Indonesian fighter was admitted to hospital in Jakarta City.
The 37-year-old former world title challenger stayed for three days due to exhaustion from overtraining, which ultimately lead to the cancellation of their upcoming fight.
"Now I feel better now," Yordan (43-4, 31 knockouts) told The Ring. "I will focus on my health and rest for a while and then think about boxing.
"Thank you, Eddie Hearn, for giving me the opportunity to fight and also thanks to my team MPRO International and also my parliament and all people of Indonesia here and in Australia who support me."
Kambosos and Yordan were due to meet in the main event at the Qudos Bank Arena, Sydney, Australia, on Saturday.
It was recently announced, when news broke that Yordan had been pulled out, that Kambosos (21-3, 10 KOs) will instead face compatriot Jake Wyllie (16-1, 15 KOs).
Yordan, who is a senator on the west Borneo Island, was in an upbeat mood regarding the cancellation of the fight.
"I'm not disappointed, these always happens in boxing or combat sports," he said. "I will be back and rise again."
