Former heavyweight titleholder Deontay Wilder will take on Derek Chisora on April 4 at The O2 in London, it was announced on Friday.
Wilder (44-4-1, 43 KOs) was recently in negotiations to face The Ring, IBF, WBA and WBC champion Oleksandr Usyk, but ultimately moved on to face the fellow quadragenarian in Chisora (36-13, 23 KOs).
Wilder is 2-4 over his last six fights since his five-year, 10-title defense reign of the WBC crown concluded. “The Bronze Bomber” was stopped twice by Tyson Fury and also lost to Joseph Parker (UD12; 2023) and Zhilei Zhang (TKO5; 2024). Wilder, 40, last fought in June and scored a seventh-round stoppage against Tyrrell Herndon.
Chisora last fought in February 2025 and beat Otto Wallin by unanimous decision. At 42, “War” Chisora has flirted with retirement in recent years, but he’s ready to enter the battlefield once again on the heels of a three-fight winning streak.
Wilder and Chisora will be competing in their 50th professional fights.
The event will stream on DAZN and be co-promoted by Misfits Boxing and Queensberry Promotions.
Viddal Riley is expected to be featured in the co-main event slot, The Ring has learned.
