The former two-time heavyweight champion eased to a seventh-round stoppage win over Mariusz Wach on Friday night at Max Muay Thai Stadium in Pattaya, Thailand.

The non-televised bout was a stay-busy assignment as he continues gearing towards an all-Brit showdown with fellow former champion and longtime rival Anthony Joshua.

Three months after a wide 12-round decision beyond Arslanbek Makhmudov, the 37-year-old remained active after ending his latest retirement following a second points defeat by Ring champion Oleksandr Usyk in December 2024.

Wach, who has lost seven of his last ten appearances, was largely outclassed but Joshua's promoter wasn't impressed with what he'd seen.

"I think he's shot," Hearn told iFL TV. "I just don't think that he's the fighter he once was. Shot is probably a little bit harsh, but shot compared to what he once was. The timing, speed of foot, I just don't think he's got it anymore."

Joshua (29-4, 26 KOs) will look to complete matters when facing Kristian Prenga (20-1, 20 KOs) atop Saturday night's show at Jeddah Superdome in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Hearn expects nothing less than a masterclass from his charge, on a bill streamed exclusively live on DAZN pay-per-view.

"I've always believed AJ knocks him out and am 100% convinced, but we've got to prove ourselves," Hearn continued during Friday night's sitdown interview.

"I don't think anyone watching that [Wach] or the Makhmudov fight can honestly say that Fury is looking like the fighter he was when he fought [Deontay] Wilder or [Vladimir] Klitschko but he's getting on ... he will always raise his game against the opposition, done it so many times in his career. He proved me wrong half a dozen times in fights I thought he would lose, but if AJ looks how I hope he will, he'll go into that fight as a massive favorite."
