Caleb Plant has put together the sort of career he can and should be proud of.

He’s a former IBF super middleweight champion, currently owns the WBA “Regular” title, and presently holds the number four slot in The Ring’s rankings.

At the age of 32, Plant (23-2, 14 KOs) seemingly has plenty left in the tank, but according to Edgar Berlanga, if he wants to continue adding to his achievements and doesn’t want to cut his time short, he should stay away from him.

“If he fights me, I’m ending his career,” said a pumped-up Berlanga to FightHub TV.

At times, Berlanga (22-1, 17 KOs) finds it hard to wrap his head around his undefeated record being a thing of the past. But while he’s incredulous to his recent defeat against Canelo Alvarez, he’s attempting to pick up the pieces and move on. His first destination will come on March 15th against Jonathan Gonzalez-Ortiz in Orlando, Florida.

Berlanga isn’t proven on the elite level and hasn't won a world title, but he believes that will all change soon. Putting aside the incredulity stemming from his defeat, he’s stated time and time again that he wants to partake in the biggest fights in boxing and has named Plant as a fighter he wants to share the ring with.

As for the Nashville, Tennessee native, if your name is buzzing in the super middleweight division, he wants a piece of you. On seemingly a weekly basis, he audaciously calls out the top names at 168 pounds, including the Puerto Rican.

Berlanga isn’t annoyed when he hears Plant utter his name. But all in all, he’s convinced that The Ring’s No. 4 ranked super middleweight is just doing it for attention. Deep down inside, Plant, from Berlanga’s point of view, knows he isn’t close to his level.

“He can’t f--k with me.”
