Ellie Scotney will fight Yamileth Mercado in a junior-featherweight unification title fight on the Katie Taylor-Amanda Serrano card on July 11, it's been confirmed.

WBO, IBF, IBO and Ring Magazine 122-pound titleholder Scotney (10-0), widely considered as one of the UK's brightest talents, was last in action at the end of January, beating Mea Motu on points to extend her unbeaten record.

Mercado (24-3, 5 KOs) hasn't fought since last June, when she beat Ramla Ali by unanimous decision to defend her title.

The fight announcement comes after the news that Scotney has signed a promotional deal with Jake Paul's Most Valuable Promotions following the expiry of her previous promotional contract with Matchroom Boxing.

“Becoming a unified super bantamweight world champion has been the result of years of grit, sacrifice, and passion—and now, with the backing of MVP, Nakisa Bidarian and Jake Paul, I’m ready to take things to the next level," Catford's Scotney said.

“MVP is breaking barriers for women’s boxing, and I’m proud to be part of a movement that’s creating real change and global opportunities for female fighters. This is just the beginning, and I can’t wait to show the world what’s next.”

MVP also secured the signatures of three more female fighters in IBF bantamweight champion Shuretta Metcalf (14-4-1, 2 KOs), Jennifer Miranda (12-0, 1 KO) and Elizabeth Oshoba (9-0, 5 KOs).

Scotney's fight with Mercado will feature on the main card of the July 11 Netflix extravaganza, which also features Taylor vs Serrano 3 for the undisputed junior welterweight titles and Alycia Baumgardner's five-belt junior-lightweight title defence against Miranda.

Elsewhere on the bill, WBO, WBC and Ring Magazine bantamweight world champion Dina Thorslund (23-0, 9 KOs) will face IBF champ Metcalf, in a unification fight that will headline the preliminary card.

The prelims will get underway with a fight between middleweight Tamm Thibeault (2-0, 1 KO) and Mary Casamassa (6-0, 1 KO).
