Wasserman have announced that Harlem Eubank (20-0, 8 KOs) will return to the ring against Tyrone McKenna (24-5-1, 7 KOs).

The welterweights will meet at the Brighton Centre on March 7th and the fight will be screened live by Channel 5 after rounding out 2024 in wildly different fashion.

In November, Eubank made a successful but scrappy debut at 147lbs when outpointing resolute Frenchman Nurali Erdogan over eight frustrating rounds.

Two weeks later, McKenna prevailed in a see-it-to-believe-it two round war with his Irish rival Dylan Moran.

Terrestrial exposure on Channel 5 has done wonders for Eubank’s profile and he has developed into a neat sharpshooter under the tutelage of Adam Booth. Wasserman have clearly decided that he is ready for a well-known, ambitious opponent who will provide him with openings to work with. McKenna fits the bill perfectly.

The 30-year-old had been linked to former British and European champion Robbie Davies Jnr (24-5, 15 KOs) but will instead face the crowd-pleasing Irishman.

“This year, I want the big fights, and on March 7th, back home at the Brighton Centre, live on Channel 5, I’m going to make a real statement at 147lbs.

“McKenna is a fan-friendly aggressive fighter who’s competed at the elite world level. It’s a real exciting fight, and that’s exactly what I’m in this game for,” Eubank said before referencing his uncle Chris’ world title fights with Ray Close, Sam Storey and Steve Collins.

“There’s also a rich history between the Eubanks and Irish fighters. On March 7, I’ll add a new chapter.”

McKenna entered a short-lived retirement after losing the ‘Battle of Belfast’ to Lewis Crocker in December 2023.

In August, the 34-year-old's return to the ring ended in a fifth-round stoppage defeat to Mohamed Mimoune but the loss didn’t affect his appetite for a fight.

McKenna has more than earned his reputation as a warrior but the six minutes he spent in the ring with Moran were arguably the most violent of his entire career.

McKenna has boxed world-level fighters like Jack Catterall and former two-time junior welterweight champion Regis Prograis and although always coming up short, he believes that top level experience gives him a significant advantage over Eubank.

“I am licking my lips at the prospect of going into Eubank’s hometown on March 7th, meeting him in the middle of the ring, and going into battle,” McKenna said.
