It was all too easy for Ring ambassador Hayato Tsutsumi during his Saudi showcase against Britain's Qais Ashfaq, but what did the punch stats say through three rounds?
Two fights, two third-round finishes in 2025 for Ring ambassador Hayato Tsutsumi after quickly proving too hot to handle for Qais Ashfaq during their junior lightweight matchup.
The 26-year-old quickly got to work against the seven-year southpaw, making the British underdog work hard during a competitive opening round evidenced by their closely-contested punch stats -- Tsutsumi threw four more total punches (24-20) and landed five more.
His striking success only increased as time wore on, much to Ashfaq's drastic demise, with 17 of his 22 connected punches being credited as power punches in a second stanza which saw the 31-year-old floored and increasingly frustrated. It wouldn't last much longer.
74.1% connect percentage on power punches speaks for itself during a dominant third round and mercifully, veteran referee Leszek Jankowiak had seen enough at 2:08 of the frame.
