The pilot is currently referred to as “Untitled Male Friendship Show,” and the show's official logline is as follows, according to Deadline:

"Menzel, a 30-year-old barber, aspiring sports manager, and professional best friend to JB, an up-and-coming boxer, as they navigate ambition, insecurity, loneliness, and the double-edged sword of success within the high-stakes world of professional boxing in Las Vegas.

Not much else was revealed from the Hollywood trade outlets that reported the news, but the development is a welcome one for boxing fans who have an appetite for scripted entertainment centered on the sweet science.

Starz jumped into the cinematic ring last month with the 50 Cent-backed drama series "Fightland." Prime Video, meanwhile, will debut "The Greatest," a series that portrays the life and career of Muhammad Ali, on November 4.

Rae is best known for her work in the HBO comedy series “Insecure,” which she co-created, co-wrote, and starred in from 2016 to 2021.
