Brian Norman Sr. has ripped the former IBF junior welterweight champion over the past few months, even going as far as to say that his son, Brian Norman Jr., would stop Hitchins if they fought.

Normally, Hitchins wouldn’t let the father-son duo get under his skin. Now, however, instead of merely brushing it off, Hitchins wants Norman Sr. to know that he might be talking his son into receiving the beating of a lifetime.

“If me and your son get in that ring, I will hurt your son,” Hitchins said on a self-recorded video posted to his Instagram account. “I’m not no Devin Haney. Brian Norman is trash.”

Hitchins alluded to the decisive defeat Norman (29-1, 23 KOs, 1 NC) suffered at the hands of Haney (33-0, 15 KOs, 1 NC) in November 2025 at ANB Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The 25-year-old Norman was dropped in the second round, before losing a fairly wide unanimous decision and his WBO 147-pound title.

Norman recently bounced back from that defeat by stopping the unheralded Josh Wagner (19-3, 10 KOs) in the second round May 16 at Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia.

As for Brooklyn’s Hitchins, he’s a brand-new face in Norman’s weight class. The 2016 Olympian dominated Ricardo Salas (24-3-2, 18 KOs) in his welterweight debut via unanimous decision July 26 at Madison Square Garden’s Infosys Theater in New York.

With neither man having an immediate fight lined up, Hitchins (21-0, 8 KOs) would love for it to happen next. In terms of how it would play out, the former 140-pound champ is confident that he would handle The Ring’s No. 2-ranked welterweight with ease.

Hitchins isn’t just guessing, either. The 28-year-old former champion claims that he has already schooled Norman during several heated and lopsided sparring sessions. So, considering what happened behind closed doors, Hitchins has a question for Norman Sr.

“What you think is gonna happen in front of the world?” Hitchins asked. “I will spank him.”
