IBF strawweight world champion Pedro Taduran is booked and busy.
The 29-year-old (19-4-1, 13 KOs) left home comforts to train in Las Vegas on New Year's Day and has his next title defense on tap against Mexico's Gustavo Perez (16-1, 5 KOs) at Pechanga Resort Casino come April 3.
Perez, rated No. 7 by the WBO and the WBA's No. 8-rated junior flyweight, began his career campaigning at flyweight until 2024, having lost his perfect streak to now-WBO champion Anthony Olascuaga two years prior.
Taduran's latest championship contest will be headed by Manny Pacquiao Promotions as the latest Sean Gibbons-managed client seeks to strategically align himself with an opportunity at undisputed glory at 105 pounds.
"Pechanga Resort Casino has been an incredible home for Manny Pacquiao Promotions, and we're proud to continue building our presence there," Pacquiao said. "Southern California has some of the world's most passionate boxing fans, and we're excited to bring another high-quality night of fights to Temecula on April 3."
The card will also feature California-born middleweight prospect Francisco Lorenzana (19-0, 13 KOs) in the chief support slot.
Nick Giongco of the Tribune was first with the news.
Taduran, who outpointed Christian Balunan in a competitive October chess match to retain his crown, will stay on course to box the winner of Oscar Collazo-Melvin Jerusalem II two weeks earlier in the same city.
Ring and unified king Collazo (13-0, 10 KOs) stopped Jerusalem (25-3, 12 KOs) after seven completed rounds during their first meeting in May 2023.
WBC titleholder Jerusalem has rebounded by winning five straight since then, with three successful title defenses - the last coming against Siyakholwa Kuse in late October.
Jerusalem told The Ring's Anson Wainwright of his eagerness to avenge defeat earlier this week, as details are ironed out before a March date with California the rumored destination.
