The two were slated to meet in the co-feature before Isaac Cruz faces Nestor Bravo in a main event DAZN will stream internationally streamed live on DAZN (8 p.m. ET; 5 p.m. PT). Ramos-Nursultanov will be rescheduled for a later date, according to a press release issued by Premier Boxing Champions.

Ramos, who holds the WBC interim middleweight title, was transported to a local hospital Thursday in the San Diego area for treatment. He was released on Friday.

Although their bout will be rescheduled, the WBC will have to figure out its next move. The winner of Ramos versus Nursultanov (20-0, 11 KOs) was set to face Carlos Adames, The Ring’s No. 1-ranked middleweight and full WBC titleholder.

Nursultanov, from Ayagoz, Kazakhstan, had been the mandatory challenger for nearly three years thanks to his 12-round, unanimous-decision victory over Julio Alamos in November 2023. He hasn’t fought since then.

As for Ramos (24-1, 19 KOs), the 25-year-old southpaw won the WBC interim middleweight title by beating Shane Mosley Jr. by unanimous decision on December 6 in San Antonio. The Casa Grande, Arizona, native is on a four-fight winning streak since losing to Erickson Lubin by unanimous decision in September 2023.

Adames, 32, defended his title via unanimous decision against Austin “Ammo” Williams on March 21 at Caribe Royale in Orlando, Florida.

The Dominican Republic’s Adames (25-1-1, 18 KOs) was initially eyeing a unification bout against WBO champion Denzel Bentley. However, the WBC nixed those talks when it mandated that Adames must face the Ramos-Nursultanov winner next.

A 10-round bout between American super middleweight Daniel Blancas (15-0, 7 KOs) and Mexico’s Sergio Jimenez (17-1-1, 15 KOs) was elevated to the co-feature spot on the Cruz-Bravo undercard once Ramos withdrew from his fight versus Nursultanov.
