The 31-year-old Filipino is matched up against the undefeated Cortes this Saturday night as part of the Ryan Garcia-Conor Benn undercard at Las Vegas' T-Mobile Arena.

Throughout the build-up, Cortes has dismissed the possibility of losing against the former featherweight champion and while not viewing his upcoming opponent as a walk in the palk, he isn't worried about any imminent danger.

Magsayo however, finds that to be laughable. With five consecutive victories, three via early stoppage, the 13-year pro can't wait to show his foe what he's all about.

“You can expect a great fight,” Magsayo told The Ring during a recent interview. “I know he’s dangerous but I’m dangerous too. He doesn’t know that. It’s good that he doesn’t know that.”

Magsayo scored a fifth-round stoppage of Feargal McCrory in his last appearance on April 5. Even with that explosive showing in mind, Cortes (25-0, 13 KOs) has otherworldly confidence.

The 29-year-old lightweight contender earned a clear unanimous decision victory after a competitive 10-round tussle with Eridson Garcia, topping the Zuffa Boxing 05 bill Magsayo made his promotional debut on.

It's a win already aging well, after Garcia rebounded impressively. The Dominican contender repeatedly floored and upset Alan Chaves to the tune of a decision win on the Andy Ruiz-Damian Knyba undercard on September 4.

Cortes is convinced he's the better fighter of the pair, though knows a victory on this elevated stage can propel him closer to new world-class territory at 135 pounds.
