Jake Paul Pledges KO Ending To Gervonta Davis Event: 'Someone Is Getting Slept'

Although several critical details are yet to be revealed about their proposed November 14 exhibition, five-year cruiserweight pro Jake Paul has made some bold statements about how his matchup with WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis will unfold.
The initial promotion for the pitting between Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis is that a definitive result is in store come Nov. 14.
Paul is taking it another step further by stating that a slugfest and stoppage will ensue.
“He's been running that third-grade mouth for years now, saying I need to fight a real boxer. Well, little man, congratulations. You got your wish,” Paul said in a video on his YouTube channel.
“Tank has been beating people up my size for ages. Since everyone thinks size doesn't matter, I want you all to keep that same energy when I fold Tank in half.
"I promise you, this fight is not going the distance. Someone is getting slept and humbled. The pressure is on, Gervonta, and I am beyond ready to pull off one of the greatest upsets in boxing history."
"If I win, I just beat one of boxing's greatest and pulled off the impossible. If he wins, he gives you all what you want to see and sends me back to YouTube. But if he loses, that whole little image of toughness and badass goes all out the window.
"And don't worry — for all of you Karens who accuse me of being on steroids as the reason for winning all of my fights, we have the strictest drug testing possible for this match with USADA."
The event was announced Wednesday, although critical details, such as contracted weight, number of rounds and whether it will be an exhibition or a sanctioned professional fight, were not revealed.
Paul (12-1, 7 KOs), a cruiserweight contender, and WBA lightweight champion Davis (30-0-1, 28 KOs) fight 65 pounds apart. The 6-foot-1 Paul is 7½-inches taller and sports a 9 ½-inch reach advantage.
"See y'all soon … I guess!" Davis wrote on Instagram on Thursday. "ATL gonna be too turnt."
Davis told the Full Send podcast during the buildup of his fight against Isaac Cruz in 2021 that Paul was a clown.
"I'd laugh at them [if my team presented me with the fight]," said Davis. "I feel as though in my career I can't do that right now. I'm not a Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao or Canelo Alvarez. I actually still need to have my foot on the gas as far as boxing."
Davis was set to face Lamont Roach Jr. in a June 21 rematch and then August 16 following their controversial majority draw in March, but those plans were complicated. Davis was arrested for alleged domestic violence on July 11, but the charges were dropped last week.
"This is the most dangerous fight of my career," Paul continued. "This isn't an influencer, MMA fighter, or retired boxer. He's been fighting since he's five years old and I have five years of boxing experience.
"Two knockout artists. One winner. Someone's going to sleep. See you soon, little guy."
