Desperate to ignite his heavyweight career, having competed on numerous Boxxer shows up to this point without much fanfare, Jeamie Tshikeva picked up a much-needed stoppage victory on the undercard of Adam Azim-Sergey Lipinets, TKO'ing Michael Webster in the ninth round.

Both Tshikeva (8-1-0, 5 KOs), or 'TKV', as he's known, and Webster (10-3, 6 KOs) tried to assert their jabs in the first round, but neither man could land anything of note without getting caught in a wrestling match.

More of the same followed in the second and third stanzas, and it wasn't until the fourth round that TKV landed a crushing right hand to leave his opponent stumbling against the ropes.

In the fifth, both men reverted to type. TKV and Webster have heart, if anything. If either man was going to land something big, it was the former. He showed spurts of explosiveness here and there, but Webster was always there to smother him.

By the seventh round, blood began to trickle down the left eye of Webster, whose fatigued state was now evident for all to see. The onus was on TKV to put his shots together in hope of securing the win in the most emphatic of manners.

TKV certainly applied pressure, with Webster now a bloody mess by the time the eighth and ninth rounds rolled around. Webster had nothing else to give, a sitting duck for his favoured opponent.

After the ninth finished, Webster's corner had seen their man ship enough punishment, electing to end the fight after a more ferocious second half of action from TKV, who smothered his work in the opening rounds.

He didn't have it all his own way to begin with, but with world champion material in his corner, Lucas Roehrig made the right adjustments and got the stoppage he wanted against Milosav Savic.

Roehrig (2-0, 1 KO), a cruiserweight fighting out of Dale Youth Boxing Club, where former WBA Super-Middleweight Champion George Groves honed his craft, stopped Savic (9-9-1, 7 KOs) in the third round of their contest.

The first two rounds saw Roehrig, trained by Groves, control much of the action. But he was also getting hit a little more than his corner team would've liked.

A more purposeful, less complacent Roehrig hopped out of his stool for the third and scored three knockdowns to seal the deal, smashing through his opponent's guard, doing damage to the flesh behind the ear with accompanying cuffing blows.

Savic shook his head after the third knockdown and that was enough for referee Amy Pu, who waved things off immediately.

Roehrig said of his partnership with Groves after the fight: "He's my idol, my role model, to have him by my side, mentoring me is unbelievable. I want to be the best boxer I can be, learning my trade whenever I can."
