Charlo (34-0, 23 KOs) has been added to the July 25 card headlined by the clash between Errol Spence Jr. and Tim Tszyu in Australia, according to Fox Sports Australia.

Charlo's opponent has not been announced yet, but trainer Ronnie Shields has alluded that the eventual adversary should be coming from The Land Down Under.

The 36-year-old from Houston last fought in May 2025 and stopped Thomas LaManna in six rounds during his super middleweight debut. Charlo came into the clash at the time off a 2 ½ year layoff.

Charlo has fought just four times this decade and has taken significant stretches of time off due to personal problems.

In April, Charlo said he was retiring, weeks after he pulled out of a planned fight on May 2 against then WBA champion Armando Resendiz. Instead, Jaime Munguia stepped in and beat Resendiz for the title by unanimous decision.

If Charlo remains active and healthy, he could potentially seize opportunities with lucrative fights against the likes of Canelo Alvarez, Caleb Plant and others.

Charlo is ranked No. 4 by the WBA and No.6 by the WBC but is not rated in The Ring's top 10 rankings.

Charlo held a 154-pound IBF title and defended the crown three times from 2015 to 2016 and also held the full 160-pound WBC title and defended the belt three times from 2019 to 2021. Charlo’s best wins have come against Austin Trout, Julian Williams, Brandon Adams and Sergiy Derevyanchenko.
