Josh Padley's first fight as a full-time professional boxer will be against Serbian Marko Cvetanovic on April 19.
The lightweight bout will be for the WBA international title and is set to feature on the Dalton Smith-Mathieu Germain undercard at the Canon Medical Arena in Sheffield. The card is to be streamed live on DAZN.
Padley (15-1, 4 KOs) recently quit his day job as an electrician after receiving a life-changing purse to step in as a replacement on late notice to face Shakur Stevenson for his WBC lightweight world title in February.
Padley was overmatched and lost by ninth-round TKO but by Monday morning, he'd received a professional contract offer from Matchroom Boxing.
It was announced soon after that Padley would make his debut on April 19, and now Cvetanovic (13-0, 6 KOs) has been confirmed as his opponent.
Undefeated as a professional and a southpaw, Cvetanovic is relatively unknown, having never fought outside of Serbia, so he may represent a tricky challenge for Padley.
Padley first made waves last September when he stepped in as a late replacement to fight Mark Chamberlain on the Anthony Joshua-Daniel Dubois card at Wembley Stadium.
The Doncaster man dropped big favourite Chamberlain in the eighth round and won the fight by unanimous decision.
Elsewhere on the Smith-Germain card, Josh Warrington is in action against an opponent yet to be confirmed, and Ishmael Davis faces Ryan Kelly in a British junior-middleweight title eliminator.
