Heavyweight Justis Huni is being lined up for a November ring return following his crushing defeat to Fabio Wardley.

Huni was leading handily on all three cards when Wardley ended their June matchup with a single right hand in the 10th round beneath the rain at Portman Road Stadium in Ipswich, England.

The 26-year-old Australian (12-1, 7 KOs) has kept a low profile ever since.

But his British promoter, Eddie Hearn, told The Ring that Huni is set to return in a 10-round fight as he bids to get back into world title contention.

“He’s going to come back in November,” Hearn said. “Most likely back home in Australia. I want to get him a good 10-round win, and then he’s ready to fight anyone. People don’t realize Justis is very young.

“He also only had four weeks' notice for that fight, and he had a shoulder issue in the build-up. It was a great comeback win for Fabio, but Justis showed everyone how good he is before that finish.

“There’s so much more to come. That was a 50 percent Justis Huni. It really was.”

Huni had stepped in following the withdrawal of Wardley’s original opponent for the date, Jarrell Miller.

Before that, Huni had been linked to Moses Itauma, 20. Both are in the WBO's top five.

And despite his defeat at the home of Ipswich Town FC, Hearn believes Huni has what it takes to derail Itauma.

“I like that fight for Justis,” Hearn said. “I just think it’s two good, young, fast heavyweights. And Justis won’t be sitting on the ropes waiting for Itauma to unload. He will be giving it a go, and I think he’s good enough to win that fight.”
