One of British boxing’s longest-running feuds will come to a head on October 25 when British and commonwealth light heavyweight champion Lewis Edmondson defends his titles against the explosive Ezra Taylor.

The fight falls on the undercard of the heavyweight clash between New Zealand’s Joseph Parker and British puncher Fabio Wardley. DAZN will broadcast the action from London’s 02 Arena exclusively on pay-per-view.

Edmondson (11-1, 3 KOs) and Taylor (12-0, 8 KOs) have been at loggerheads for some time.

There have been a number of public clashes – the most recent coming at the pre-fight press conference for Taylor’s fight with Troy Jones in May – and a clash between the two has long felt like an inevitability.

It was briefly rumoured that the fight would take place in July on the undercard of the undisputed heavyweight title fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium in London.

Edmondson did appear on the bill, but the 28-year-old from Southampton lost a debated majority decision to undefeated Ukrainian Daniel Lapin.

Nottingham’s Taylor, 31, hasn’t boxed since recording a 10-round decision victory over former English champion Troy Jones.

Edmondson and Taylor now get to settle their differences in the ring. The fight has arrived at the ideal time for both men.

Their rivalry ensures that the build-up will generate plenty of animosity and, therefore, plenty of interest.

Queensberry Promotions will host a light heavyweight-dominated card November 1 at Co-op Live Arena in Manchester.

Joshua Buatsi’s fight with world-ranked Zach Parker headlines the show. European champion Bradley Rea will also make the first defence of his belt against former world title challenger Lyndon Arthur.

The winner of the fight between Edmondson and Taylor will have earned the right to be mentioned in that company.
