World-rated bantamweight Kenneth Llover will face Michael Angeletti in a battle of unbeaten contenders on June 6.
The pair will contest an IBF eliminator for the right to face current titleholder Jose Salas on Saturday at Aichi Sky Expo in Tokoname, Japan.
"That will be a great fight," Llover (17-0, 12 KOs) told The Ring. "He's a good, tough fighter but I'm not scared of him.
"I will show Japanese and Filipino boxing fans that I will bring a good fight to Angeletti."
The 23-year-old from Philippines, rated No. 9 at 118 pounds by The Ring, is complimentary of his opponent but believes he has what it takes not just to win, but then go on and claim the world title.
"He's really a good fighter, stylistic, elusive but I don't think he can do it against me because I know the blueprint to defeat him," he said.
Saturday's winner will be primed to face Salas (17-0, 11 KOs) for the IBF title in the second-half of the year, after the Mexican's seventh-round stoppage of Landile Ngxeke (16-2-1, 9 KOs) in December to claim the crown vacated by Junto Nakatani.
However, Llover believes this is the bigger challenge.
"This world title eliminator is really important to me, I look at this as a world championship fight. When I get this win, it will be easy for me to beat Salas."
Llover, promoted by former two-division world champion Gerry Penalosa, has prepared excellently. As well as an eight-week training camp, he banked four fights in 2025 and all were stoppage victories.
"I think those fights will help in this one. I think in my mind, I'll give my all because there's no boxing tomorrow. I'm willing to give boxing fans a hell of a fight," he said.
Meanwhile, his promoter believes this is just the start for his charge and is eyeing bigger prizes.
"Kenneth is hungry for the title," said Penalosa. "Kenneth will win by knockout, as Angeletti can't handle Kenneth's power. We want to fight big fights against [Jesse] Bam [Rodriguez] and [Naoya] Inoue."
Angeletti (14-0, 8 KOs) has worked his way through the ranks before a third-round stoppage of Judy Flores in February 2025. He then won a continental title with a lopsided 10-round decision over Eros Correa last June.
