Cruiserweight prospect Roehrig (9-0, 5 KOs) recently signed a multi-fight deal with Zuffa and will make his debut for them at London’s Copper Box Arena November 7 on the Chris Billam-Smith vs. Chev Clarke undercard.

The highly rated 23-year-old is not overlooking Connal McDonald (5-1, 1 KO), who earned this clash by beating Scott Forrest in May, but he knows an impressive victory will put him in line for a significant fight in 2027.

And the former basketball player, who is managed and trained by George Groves, has already identified which fellow member of the Zuffa roster he wants most.

“On their books they have lots of different cruiserweights,” Roehrig tells The Ring. “They’ve got undefeated world champions like Jai Opetaia, they’ve got former world champions like Chris Billam-Smith, they’ve got prospects, veterans, pretty much every level covered.

“So for me I see a lot of big opportunities and some big potential crossover fights. They’re going to have a bunch of shows in America so the fight I want is Andrew Tabiti. He’s a big name and beating him would show what level I’m on.”

“The Beast” Tabiti has not boxed since June last year when he stopped Jacob Dickson in Accra, Ghana. That, in turn, was his first outing for 14 months following a one-round blow out against Junior Anthony Wright in Philadelphia.

Earlier this year, Tabiti (22-2, 18 KOs), the former world title challenger, announced he had signed a deal with Zuffa but he is still yet to box on one of their shows.

Roehrig said: “He has not been the most active but he is very established and people know what quality he has. So once I get through November 7 he is the one I want most. I think beating him would announce me to the world and let them know I’m here.

“Obviously we would need to find a date and location that makes sense but once November 7 is done, we will be looking for our next move straight away and Zuffa want to support that. I feel like Tabiti would be the perfect next stage.”
