Matchroom Boxing made a concerted effort to build its United States roster in 2024 by signing standouts Shakur Stevenson, Jaron “Boots” Ennis, and Ernesto “Tito” Mercado and resigning Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez to promotional deals.

Eddie Hearn is capping off his 2024 campaign with the signing of 19-year-old junior lightweight prospect Zaquin Moses, the promotional company announced on Friday.

“Big signing,” Hearn wrote on X.

Moses will be featured on the undercard of Matchroom’s January 25 show headlined by the super middleweight matchup between Diego Pacheco and Steven Nelson.

Moses is a southpaw from Newark, New Jersey, just like his cousin Shakur Stevenson. Moses has a decorated amateur background with wins against the likes of touted phenom Curmel Moton in the 2023 US Amateur National Championships.

Moses made his pro debut in November on Matchroom’s show headlined by Ennis and Karen Chukhadzhian in Philadelphia and scored a four-round unanimous decision win.

"He looked real good, he looked sharp, but there’s a lot that we’re going to work on when we get back to the gym," Stevenson said at the time of Moses’ performance. "Other than that, he was really sharp, defensively he was on point. It’s just the footwork I want to correct a little bit."
