So is WBC super middleweight titleholder Christian Mbilli, who, at 31, is five years younger and 389 rounds fresher than the rival he's facing, Canelo Alvarez, on October 31 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on DAZN PPV.

Alvarez is entering the twilight of his illustrious career, coming off a unanimous decision loss in September of last year against the undersized, yet supremely skilled Terence Crawford. The defeat was just the third in 67 fights for Alvarez since he turned pro in 2005.

"He's old now, but he's still very dangerous," Mbilli told Alvarez during a face-to-face conversation on DAZN. "He has very good power and a very good counter punch. I think it's the best timing for me to have this fight."

Alvarez hasn't scored a stoppage win over his last eight fights, a streak spanning five years dating back to his knockout win against Caleb Plant during the height of his undisputed super middleweight title reign in 2021.

"His power is going down a little bit, but he's still dangerous," Mbilli said. "Five years ago, he was at a different level. But now he's a little bit down, I think. But he's still very, very dangerous.

"I'm hungrier than him. I think that's the difference between us."

On the undercard of Alvarez-Crawford at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Mbilli fought to a majority draw against Lester Martinez in the highest-profile fight of his career.

Just as Mbilli (29-0-1, 24 KOs) denounced Alvarez (63-2-2, 39 KOs), he also applauded one of the greatest fighters of his generation.

"I'm the champ, but for me, he's still the number one," Mbilli said. "I'm the champ, but he's a legend. My life will be better after the win.

"I'm going to win this fight, and I'm going to be 100% ready. I think it will be an incredible fight."
