We knew Takuma Inoue would make the first defense of his WBC bantamweight belt in a Tenshin Nasukawa rematch. Now, we know the full September 27 undercard.
Live from Tokyo's Toyota Arena, the full undercard for next month's Teiken Promotions event is complete. The show will be streamed on Amazon Prime in Japan, while there is no worldwide broadcaster yet confirmed.
In the evening's chief support bout, former IBF bantamweight titlist Ryosuke Nishida (11-1, 2 KOs) and Sam Goodman (22-1, 8 KOs) will meet for the vacant IBF interim junior featherweight title.
Muto Promotions won the purse bid with a $610,000 offer, securing home advantage to potentially put the winner in line to face Ring and undisputed divisional champion Naoya Inoue. The Ring's top pound-for-pound star is mulling his options at present, which include a mega fight with Jesse "Bam" Rodriguez and a featherweight move.
Goodman is The Ring's No. 2-rated operator at 122 pounds and his only loss came up at featherweight when he unsuccessfully challenged then WBA beltholder Nick Ball dropping a 12-round unanimous decision last August.
Nishida sits four places lower at No. 6, and previously held the IBF's 118-pound title at 118. His only loss was in a two-belt unification match with Junto Nakatani, who stopped him in six rounds in June 2025.
Meanwhile, Tomoya Tsuboi (3-0, 2 KOs, 1 NC) and Ricardo Malajika (17-2, 12 KOs) will contest the vacant WBC junior bantamweight title.
The Japanese fighter, The Ring's No. 6-rated fighter at 115 pounds, will look to match compatriot Kosei Tanaka by winning a world title in his fifth professional fight. The South African co-challenger is rated one place lower at No. 7.
Ryusei Matsumoto (8-0, 4 KOs) will take on fellow unbeaten contender Russell Acosta (17-0, 6 KOs) for the vacant WBO interim strawweight title.
Ring champion Oscar Collazo, who holds the WBO and WBA crowns, is moving up to flyweight and will face WBA/WBC ruler Ricardo Sandoval on October 10, with the Matsumoto-Acosta winner to be elevated as soon as Collazo makes his next appearance.
Matsumoto is The Ring's No. 4-ranked strawweight, while Acosta holds the No. 10 spot. In the opening bout, Hayato Aiko (2-2-1) and Natsuki Kuramochi (1-1-1) will fight over four rounds at featherweight.
