O’Shaquie Foster has made his decision.

After outpointing Stephen Fulton to win the vacant WBC interim lightweight title on Saturday in San Antonio, Foster has opted to give up the belt and hold onto his 130-pound WBC strap instead, he announced on X.

Foster (24-3, 12 KOs) had been set to defend his junior lightweight title against Fulton. However, Fulton failed to make weight by two pounds. The WBC elected to place its vacant interim lightweight title on the line.

After his unanimous decision, Foster was given only a few weeks to decide whether he wanted to campaign at 130 or 135.

Foster, 32, appeared to be leaning toward 135 based on a heated back-and-forth on X with Shakur Stevenson, the lightweight division’s full-fledged WBC champion. Foster pressured Stevenson to fight him next if the latter defeats Teofimo Lopez at 140 pounds on January 31.

However, Foster evidently believes he has more he can accomplish at junior lightweight. A meeting with Stevenson, he said on X, will come at a later date.

"Lol yall calm down lil buddy still gone get his trust me," he said. "I promise yall ain’t nothing changed it’s all part of a bigger plan but I tell you this much if he stay at 135 I promise you ima be the first one waiting mark my words."
