Power-punching Ring champions and unified titleholders Oscar Collazo and Gabriela Fundora will star in a doubleheader Sept. 20 at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, California on DAZN, Golden Boy announced on Monday.

In the main event, Collazo (12-0, 9 KOs) is set to defend his Ring, WBA and WBO minimumweight titles against Jayson Vayson (14-1-1, 8 KOs). Fundora (16-0, 8 KOs) will make the third defense of her undisputed flyweight title against Ayelén Granadino (12-2-4, 1 KO).

“We will enter the ring very prepared, with a lot of boxing IQ,” said Collazo, a 28-year-old from Puerto Rico. “We know Vayson is a great fighter and that he will be hungry to dethrone me, but he won’t be able to, because I have worked hard to defend what is mine and represent my island with pride.”

Collazo has crushed five out his last six opponents by knockout, the most recent being Edwin Cano in five rounds. Vayson has knocked out three out of his last four opponents as well, albeit against inferior opposition.

Meanwhile, Fundora, who lives and trains in the Coachella Valley, will be showcased in a homecoming fight for just the second time in her career. The Ring’s 2024 Female Fighter of the Year is coming off a seventh-round stoppage of Marilyn Badillo in April.

“Sweet Poison,” the sister of WBC junior middleweight champion Sebastian Fundora, has stopped four out her last five opponents. Granadino has stopped just one opponent in her seven-year career.

“I’m staying 100 percent focused on defending my belts,” said Fundora 23. “Our immediate teamwork’s intelligent planning and dedicated commitment is the result of our reality.”
