After a resume-enhancing 2025 campaign, Jesse "Bam" Rodriguez will make his 2026 debut in June against another world champion, albeit in a new weight division.
Unwilling to wait as sanctioning body mandatories have prevented him from completing the undisputed set at junior bantamweight, at least for now, The Ring's No. 4 pound-for-pound boxer has responded by seeking a world title in his third division when facing Antonio Vargas live on DAZN come June 13.
Having completed the inaugural press conference this week, the 26-year-old southpaw sat down with The Ring's Rick Reeno to talk about several topics, including:
- His journey from first his steps in the gym to now
- Thoughts on Naoya Inoue-Junto Nakatani, their last performances at Ring V and would he fight either?
- Staying at bantamweight after June 13? What's his weight ceiling?
- Being motivated by Robert Garcia's praise and pressure as a pound-for-pound star
Their full sit-down interview is now available to watch and stream across all platforms. Scroll down below and enjoy the episode! 🥊💥
