As the countdown to his welterweight title fight continues, two-division world champion Teofimo Lopez returned to the Mr. Verzace Podcast with father and head coach Senior alongside him.
Having featured alone, then with friend-turned-foe Romero on the Mr. Verzace podcast in recent months, the 29-year-old contender made a rare media appearance alongside his father and head coach Sr.
Just days away from his shot at becoming three-division world champion, there was naturally plenty of debate between the father-son tandem as they plot their way through a new challenge up in the welterweight ranks.
Lopez, who rebuilt in a new weight class after an upset defeat by George Kambosos in November 2021, spoke introspectively about being a role model to others and achieving greatness for something bigger than himself.
Deep stuff. Among the topics discussed during another compelling watch, were...
- Teofimo Sr. and Teofimo on their humble beginnings, father leading the way for his son
- When did Teofimo Sr. realize his son was special?
- Teofimo drawing the line from father-son to trainer
- Why Teofimo decided to stick with his father after public criticism
- What was the breaking point between Teofimo Sr. and his son
- Reflecting on the Shakur Stevenson defeat, what went wrong?
- Navigating the up and downs of their relationship
- How did Teofimo Sr.'s struggles help mold Teofimo?
- Would Teofimo encourage or discourage his son to become a boxer?
