Atlantic City - In a battle of undefeated welterweight champions, Jaron Ennis (34-0, 30 KOs) beat down Eimantas Stanionis (15-1, 9 KOs) over six rounds to capture the vacant Ring Magazine title, and unified the WBA/IBF world titles. (photos by Mark Robinson)
In the first half of the bout, Ennis was busting up Stanionis with quick power shots, when the Lithuanian fighter would press forward and tried to get on the inside.
In the sixth, a big combination of punches sent Stanionis down for the first time. The referee made a decision to stop the fight at the end of the round, with Stanionis' face being a mess and bloody.
