The six-foot-six “Big Bang” came out pushing the pace in the first round, but Kabayel kept his composure while working the taller opponent’s body. From the second round onward, Kabayel outlanded Zhang 162 to 70, with 63% of his power punches connecting to the body. Zhang was visibly worn out at the start of the fifth but took advantage of Kabayel’s eagerness with a counter left that dropped the 32-year-old.
Kabayel got off the mat and, one round later, was able to finally put Zhang down, finishing him with a piercing right hook to the body. The victor landed nearly 50% of his punches in the contest, including 96 to the midsection.
