Newcastle, Australia - Former junior middleweight world champion Tim Tszyu (25-2, 18 KOs) battered and stopped Joey Spencer (19-2, 11 KOs) in four rounds of action.
Tszyu will now move forward to a likely clash with former unified world champion Keith Thurman - which is tabbed to take place in the summer. Thurman recently saw action in Australia, where he easily blew away Brock Jarvis.
Entering Saturday's bout, Tszyu was coming off back to back defeats at the hands of Sebastian Fundora and Bakhram Murtazaliev. While Spencer, racked up three wins in a row since getting stopped by Jesus Ramos in seven rounds in 2023.
